4 years! - and a GIVEAWAY!

Who would have thought I would last that long at blogging?! Not me. I am proud of myself, that I didn´t quit when I sometimes felt like it. It has made my life richer and made me a more satisfied person (at least I think so). I´m better at coping with my own situations, due to the fact that I can open myself here. It helps me too, when I read about other peoples lives. I see that in many things, even though we live so far apart, we are very similar and it´s great to read about how other people handle tough situations.
I feel blessed to have gained so many friends along the way.
Since I love to make people happy with gifts, I thought this would be the perfect occasion for a giveaway. Right? :)
And to make it more interesting, there will be two winners.

What do you have to do to win?      COMMENT. :)

That is all. I do not like  pressuring people to follow me, just because they want to win something. If you want any of the following items, comment. Maybe some of those "lurkers" will come out of hiding for this. I would love to hear from you!
What can you win?

1. This lovely Ñanduti lace.
You could use it as a table coaster or even hang it on a wall. Don´t you just love the colorful thread it´s made of? It is woven by hand by Paraguayan women and is  typical piece of our countries heritage. My friend Shilo did a post on the legend of Ñanduti (which is what this art form is called). If you´re interested you can read up on it by clicking on the links.

 2. The second gift is this wooden nativity scene.

I thought since we are approaching the Christmas season, this would be perfect for someone to display. It is also handcrafted by a woman in our town, using local grown wood. I love how the grain of the wood is so visible and since it´s not stained the smell of the wood is still there too.

I really want to give at least one of these items to someone who is a longtime followers and commenter. For this reason, I have to tell you, that I will be counting those comments as 2 (instead of just 1), if you are a regular commenter or a long time reader of my blog. My blog = my rules. Right? :)
Since I want these to be received before Christmas, I need to send them soon. That´s why you have time to comment until Sunday Nov. 21.

Good luck to everyone! Can´t wait to see who wins.

Wow, Betty, 4 years! I love the way you describe what the blogging experience has meant to you. I agree about how interesting it is to learn how much we have in common even with people no matter where they live.

Time flies when you're having fun! It's been a joy to get to know you through your blog. I love your openness and honesty and in that way you minister to others. I feel it gives people permission to be open and honest with you and that's a great basis for relationships.

You have some very special blogaversary giveaway items! I never win anything - mainly because I don't enter, LOL! Enjoy your spring - we've just welcomed our first major snowfall of the season! Fun driving - NOT!!

Four years is highly impressive! I know blogging has made me a better person, too; I have become more open-hearted toward people who are different from me in their beliefs and lifestyles. Before, I thought I was open-minded, but I've discovered that open-hearted is better because that is the way Jesus lived.
Your gifts are very generous, Betty. The nativity scene is incredible! And I'm going to click on that link to learn about the Ñanduti lace. The color is so very vibrant!

Hi Betty! I just wanted to congratulate you and say, that even though we live in the same community, I've only gotten to know you through your blog. You have a great way of showing the world what it's like to live in Paraguay. I always enjoy reading your posts and your comments on my blog. You're blog is what mine wants to be when it's grown up:) Felicidades on your 4th anniversary!

LOL -- love the "my blog, my rules" attitude! You go girl! :)

I'm glad you've kept at it for four years too. Lately I haven't had much time for blogging or reading blogs and I miss that "contact" with my Bloggy Buddies. It's nice to know you'll still be here when I do have time to visit :)

I totally agree that it's nice to know others who are experiencing similar situations, and how they deal with it, and the humor so many see in it... for this language-challenged gal, I've found my blogging friends to be a life-line and a source of much comfort, laughter and encouragement.

Oh wow, congratulations to you Betty. four years is a big commitment but I like you think I will just keep blogging and blogging even if there are some big breaks in between. And I think what you said is so true reading blogs form people all over the world makes us realise that we are more alike than not and that somehow makes me feel everythign is not so bad with the World we live in. And those giveaways are drop dead gorgeous, well done!! And like Joanna said its great that it is something that is made from where you live. Authentic Paraguayan. My four years is in January next year - I never even realised that until I just counted now. That surprises me too.

Congratulations on your blogaversary! I agree that sharing the ups and downs of life has been one of the biggest blessings in blogging. So nice to have 'met' you this way : )

I'm not a long time reader. But I always look forward to reading your posts. I'm not commenting in order to win any thing, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Blogaversary!!! (And many more)!!!

Wow - four years. That really is a wonderful achievement! Congrats.

And what lovely presents you're giving away. So generous!

"Four years is like 40 in blog years!" Joanna should get an extra entry for that--hilarious!

Congratulations! I'm just a couple of months behind you now that I think about it. I think bloggers survive because they do it for themselves. So much of real life is all about sacrificing for others. No need to create a space for more of the same. Not that it isn't a huge blessing to others when you do blog!

Thanks for sharing your sense of humor, your kindness, your wisdom and your struggles here. I have learned much from how you handle your challenges and embrace all of life, both good and bad.

Your two winners will be very lucky indeed!

I could easily fall in love with the Ñanduti lace and its vibrant colour. ☺(Beautiful colours on Shilo's post too!) Enjoy the week-end!

CONGRATULATIONS on 4 YEARS!!! That is great! :)

I know ONE thing - if that Nativity is made out of that same wood you sent me, the winner is going to be PLEASANTLY surprised!!! (maybe not AS pleasantly as I was - but pleasantly none the less!) And the lace is lovely too!

Yay to 4 years!! How many bloggers ever make it that far? Not many. Good for you!

LOVE that gorgeous lace - wow! What a special piece.

Blue my favorite color, but there's none in my house. Well, that's not true, the one blue room is our office, but the lace would disappear under all my husband's mess!

The Nativity scene is, of course, precious.

Hope whoever wins each recognizes a little blessing!
