Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What do you do at the first sign of a cold? Will you get a flu shot this year?
I haven´t gotten a flu shot in years and since we are going into summer, I most likely won´t now. But for next winter I most certainly will. I had a cold this past winter that lasted for months. I do believe they work.

2. What advice can you give about how to conquer fear?
I think the best thing is to face it head on. Usually fear comes from the unknown. If we explore what we are afraid of we will discover it to be needless.

 3. Share two good things about your life right now.
 No words needed, right?

4. A hot fall fashion trend in 2011 is a return to sixties style...tunics with pants, shift dresses, pencil skirts, cinched waists, bold prints, high necklines and short lengths to name a few. How does this fashion trend fit with your wardrobe and personal sense of style?
I like the tunic shirts that are in, because they flatter my body type, but mini skirts? Not so much. I´ll have to wait and see what really takes off, but I think at this age we can´t wear everything that is "in".

5. Were you involved in scouting as a kid? How about as an adult?
Nope.

6. Apple, pear, plum, pumpkin...your favorite fall flavor?
Plums if they are really sweet and apples come a close second.

7. What characteristics do you think are essential in a good teacher?
Patience. And being flexible. To be able to understand her students and connect on their level.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Something I found on Pinterest the other day. Thought I´d share this good idea.

Use canning lids on a sheet pan to hold paper cupcake liners, so you can bake more cupcakes/ muffins at one time...genius!!

I like your two favorite things ih your life! I've said it before, but your daughters are beautiful young women!!

If I think I'm getting a cold, I take a lot of vitamin C; usually it helps the cold not be so bad. I'm with you about flu shots too; I do think they work. One year my daughter got a flu shot cause she had asthma and I got one; son didn't (this was years ago when they were still in school). He got the flu, we didn't. Next year he got a flu shot!

I'm also with you about sometimes at our age it is not necessarily good to wear what the current fashion might be. I made it a point a few years ago not to wear shorts above the knee, capris fine, but not above the knee. I think it was a wise thing LOL for me!

have a great Wednesday!

Those two are indeed good things in your life....and they are both so pretty.
I am pretty sure I won't be wearing cinched waists and short skirts, but tunics and high necks might work for me. :) Looking somewhat stylish but still age appropriate can be a challenge.

Beck just got his first flu shot today. He actually got the flu last winter, so I'm hoping it works! I just bought some cupcake liners at Hobby Lobby today that are supposed to be sturdy enough to use on a cookie sheet. I'll see how it goes when I make cupcakes for the 1st b-day party this weekend. I may end up needing canning lids! :)
