Wednesday Hodgepodge

It seems all I have time for is Wednesday´s hodgepodge. Sorry about the lack of posting, I´ll explain why in Nr. 8.

1. What's your favorite meal to serve on a chilly autumn evening?
Home made soup with  Mennonite Rollkuchen (pieces of fried dough).

2. Are you a creature of habit? Explain.
Not really. I don´t mind changing things around. I love trying new recipes and don´t cook the same meals each week. I like to be spontaneous and don´t mind that much if my plans need to be changed.

3. What food product (no longer readily available) do you remember and miss from days gone by?
I know these are still available, but not to me. Me and hubby love these candy bars and we miss them.
(Then again, now that I´m trying to eat less, it´s good they are not readily available over here)

4. What's something you've lost that you've never been able to find? Any theories as to what happened?
A pocket knife I used at work. I had it for 10 years and it was my letter opener. I also used it to remove those stubborn staples. One day I was removing many such staples from a pile of documents and somehow it got mixed up with the papers. When I thew the papers out that were trash the knife was scooped up and also thrown out. Never to be seen again.... :( I miss my knife.

5. Zoo~circus~ carnival...your favorite?
Circus. I´ve only been to one real circus, but I´d love to see it again.

6. What song makes you feel instantly happy?
I´m actually listening to lots of music lately. Since I´m walking more, it helps me to walk faster and longer. I love anything with a quick beat and don´t really know the artists that perform it.

7. To what extent are you an argumentative person?
My husband would say I´m VERY argumentative, but I think I´m not that bad. I´d rather give in, than have a long argument with someone. Even though I know I´m right.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
As you´ve noticed my posting is lacking. The reason is because I have two blogs.
I tried to "do" two blogs before but I can´t do it. One of them will suffer. As I wrote a while ago, I have started a journey to lose weight and this is my top priority at the moment. I have a different blog for that, because I joined a challenge as well. Yesterday I actually posted the wrong post on this blog instead of the other one. That´s when I realized it´s getting a bit much. For now I´m going to take a break here and will be focusing on changing my life style. Once in a while I will post mayor events here that I do not want to forget. But for now this is more important for me. I´ve lost 9 lbs. so far, but it´s hard. Being 50 and trying to diet is not as easy as it used to be. I need all my strength to do it, but I am feeling great and that is incentive enough.

I will be reading your blogs though and will comment as I have time.

Homemade soups, stews, chili---I love all that cool weather cooking/eating! I didn't like the circus- I hate that they make those animals do tricks. It just doesn't seem natural. And I'm scared the trapeze people are going to fall!

Good Luck with your weight loss journey and congratulations on the 9 lbs down. I have tried to keep up with two blogs before and that is just too much work, somtimes one blog is just too much.

I can hardly keep up with one blog let alone two...you have done very well, but a break will do you good.
You are doing great with the weight loss. When you reach your goal, or below, I will send you an O Henry as a special treat :)

That fried dough looks delicious, Betty! But I've never met a bread I didn't like, LOL! Good for you for the 9 pounds lost! It is hard to keep up two blogs; wise decision to concentrate on your healthy lifestyle and post here when/if you want!

Good luck with your weight loss program. It's going to be difficult to avoid all those winter foods that are on the horizon but you'll do it. Keep strong!!

Good for you, Betty! I added a photography blog this year as part of a challenge, and I will be very glad to combine them when the year is over. VERY! I had two blogs before and I am really hoping I don't do it again. ;-) Will be glad to see you anytime!

I tried two blogs too but I felt like it was too much and I was repeating the same stuff.

Proud of you for working on yourself and setting goals. I need to lose some weight myself.

I'm 49 and shocked at how easily I gain weight now and how hard it is to lose it. I know Weight Watchers works, but that takes a lot of work, too.

Congratulations on 9 pounds!!! That's a great start, Betty.

The older I get, the harder it has become to lose weight, so I know how well-fought those 9lbs have been for you!

Wow-9 lbs is fantastic. It is so much harder to get the weight off now I find. Is your other blog open or private? I'd like to follow if you send me the link.

Have a great week!

I thought I had commented but I can't find it here, so I'll try again.
Congratulations on your weight loss! And yes, your health is of great importance.
I can barely keep up with my ONE blog so I understand how you can't keep up with 2 of them right now! I'm doing less on my blog as I have to devote much of my time to keeping moving and not sitting in front of a computer all day.

Good luck with your weight loss program, I am 45 and recently started an exercise program since 'reducing food intake' was not working on its own. So yes it's difficult, but keep at it...
